Broken Link Checker
BLC Slowing Site/Dashboard Down Incredibly (5 posts)

I installed Broken Link Checker plugin last week and whenever it is running a scan (every 72 hours) my site slows to a crawl and my dashboard comes to a complete halt. Is there a setting or something I can do to fix this situation? I like the plugin but can't handle the way it is slowing down my site. I can't do anything when it is running.

I went to the settings page (or advanced setting page - I forget which one and I'm not logged in right now to check) and cleared out the server limit (it was set to 4 after installation). It still slows down the dashboard for a few moments after I log on but gets back to normal quickly. Try changing that setting and see if it helps.

I can't even get to the settings. Once I activate BLC, my dashboard stalls out and I eventually get a server error (500 Internal Server Error, details at end of msg in case it helps).

I've used it in the past, but I keep it inactive since it slows the site (and activate it and run it once in a while to check for broken links). I tried deactivating the one new plugin I've added since I last used BLC, but that didn't work.
