I am as well. Any thoughts on how to fix this?

I had this problem too. Turns out it was an .htaccess issue. I was using the 5G BLACKLIST/FIREWALL by PerishablePress.com for security. Anyways I removed that code from my .htaccess file and the blank screen issue was resolved.

Apparently some of the RewriteCond (eg [ ]) are now needed in WP 3.5.

Hey everyone, could you all provide the following information, it will help us diagnose what might be happening here...

    WordPress up to date?
    NextGEN up to date?

(please confirm the following, with your server host tech) :
    MySQL up to date (5.2.4)?
    PHP up to date (5.0)?
    The mod_rewrite Apache module activated?
    PHP Safe Mode OFF?

and if you're willing to share:
    Who are you hosted with?
    What theme are you running?
Which plugins do you have installed and activated?
Does this error still occur if you switch your theme to the WP default, and deactivate all plugins except NextGEN Gallery? (*be sure to clear your browser cache and reload your site after deactivating)

The more detailed information you can provide, the easier it is for us to dig in and see if this is a bug we can fix, and include in the next upgrade. Many thanks! :)

I found a solution for my problem, I noticed menus, widgets and some other stuff wasn't working properly for me neither and only on my personal website. All the other sites I admin did not have these problems.

This step is what fixed it for me:

    BulletProof Security - http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bulletproof-security/
Update to the latest version (.47.7) to fix issues with javascript functionality in WordPress not working correctly.
Note: You can still have this problem if you have *ever* used the BulletProof Security in the past, even if you have removed it. If you are experiencing problems with menus and widgets and the editor and similar not working, and you have ever used BulletProof Security, even if you're not using it anymore, then look for an .htaccess file in the /wp-admin directory, and delete it if it is there.

@Hyde105, thanks for your post. Unfortunately, that didn't change the blank screen issue for me. I am glad I installed it though!

Everyone who is still experiencing this error, could you let us know if you deactivate all plugins (except NextGEN), if the white screen persists? Sounds like BPS plugin was the cause for @Hyde105.

What's important for us, in order to properly troubleshoot and replicate the same error so we can resolve this bug, if possible, is to have the complete list of needed information from each of you as shown [here]. Thank you!

Hi I followed the advice of deactivating all my plugins and then re-activating each one.. For Some reason the plugin "kk Star Ratings" was breaking my nextgen.. it wouldn't let me move thumbs around or upload images.

    Hope that helps

If i deactivate all my plug ins and then reactive them all will it screw up my website or will it put everything back to the way it was???

@melobster - Good question! Reactivating should put everything back into place how it was before. In some rare cases, some settings have to be reapplied, but as said - that's rare.

@photocrati thank you. I wanted to make sure before attempting. You don't think NextGen Gallery will come out with a fix?

@melobster - we're currently looking into this, if it's third-party plugin related, it's unlikely there's much we could do to prevent the white screen if it's being caused by another plugin. But if there is anything we can do, we'll of course provide a solution for it. Right now, we're having difficulty replicating the same error, and this is why we need as much information (see here) from those who are experiencing the error, as possible.

@BloggingGuru - Could you provide the following information so we can confirm the issues you're seeing are not caused by a theme or other plugin?

    Who are you hosted with?
    What theme are you running?
Which plugins do you have installed and activated?
Does this error still occur if you switch your theme to the WP default, and deactivate all plugins except NextGEN Gallery? (*be sure to clear your browser cache and reload your site after deactivating)

@photocrati We have never had any issue until this update of WordPress.

Who are you hosted with? - omnis.com

What theme are you running? - Custom

Which plugins do you have installed and activated? -

    • NextGEN Gallery
    • NextGEN Custom Fields
    • JSON API
    • ThickBox

Does this error still occur if you switch your theme to the WP default, and deactivate all plugins except NextGEN Gallery? (*be sure to clear your browser cache and reload your site after deactivating) -

Yes it does. We did all of the standard checks you stated and still have the issue.

@BloggingGuru - Would you mind emailing us directly [here], with your WP login, and FTP information so one of our developers can dig deeper into your site to see if they can find the root cause?

It's curious, because so far deactivating or upgrading other plugins has fixed this error for other users. Do any of your plugins show an update available? If not, please send the above info to us via email and we'll check and see if we can find the cause.

    Thanks!

    @photocrati

I actually sourced a piece of customized code we added via the functions file that caused it to stay that way. When edited and the same process you outlined was done it corrected the issue.

Thanks and apologies for the false alarm.

I think I found the solution for our site - I removed wp_enqueue_style elements from functions.php and it worked.

I de-activated all plugins one by one, but nothing worked. In fact, it's been like this for a while now, so for me the last updates didn't change antyhting but kept the photo pages empty.

I was able to fix this with editing my functions.php file -- the wp_enqueue_style section

#isserdude - thank you for posting a possible solution for me. Can you tell me where I go to edit my functions.php file? I have a custom theme and I'm not sure where I go to do what you suggest. Thank you

I went to Edit Plug-ins and under NextGen Gallery plug in I found nextgen-gallery/admin/functions.php (inactive). In the code I could not find wp_enqueue_style section.
Can someone help me? I've had too many down days now and I need to update my website with updates and need add/manager the pictures on a certain page and I can't because of what's going on with NextGen Gallery.

    Thank you in advance!
    Vicki
