blank white screen when saving
-
I am using the shortcode on a page, and when I try to save the page, all I get is a blank white screen. On the front end, the page content has disappeared (though the surrounding template is still visible). When I go back and remove the shortcode, the page can be published correctly.
I’ve tried everything I usually do to troubleshoot: disabled all other plugins, tried default theme, and the problem is still there. There are no extra line breaks at the end of my functions file or wp-config file. I enabled debug in wp-config and no errors are displayed pertaining to the plugin.
This only happened once I duplicated my site from my dev server to my live one. It worked (and still works) fine on my dev server. So I have to deduce it’s a server thing (it’s two different hosts). However, I don’t know what I need to be looking for. I checked my php memory and it’s already at 512M. Can anybody point me in a direction for troubleshooting why this may be happening on one server and not another? Googling hasn’t helped much because while everyone acknowledges that the problem for the “white screen of death” might be a plugin, nobody suggests what to do in order to keep using said plugin, or what the root causes might be in order to actually fix it.
Plugin author Dave, any requirements I need to be made aware of?
