    Hey,

So I currently have a local Apache webserver running locally on my laptop because I simply want to experiment/learn before I actually deploy a site and pay for hosting.

I have my database and php set-up and "married" and I have the wordpress file located in my server's root directory. However, when trying to run the install script, I don't see anything but a blank screen and "waiting for localhost" in the bottom left-hand corner.

I have looked around on the forums and found similar issues, most of which seemed to be solved by allocating more memory in the php.ini, however mine is already set to 128 MB.

Any advice on how to get this installation script going?

    Henry,

Have you enabled WP_DEBUG? Instructions are at http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Debug. Doing so may reveal the error that is causing the white screen.

If not, can you locate the PHP error log? Again, it may show you what error is causing your trouble.

    Erick
