Blank Screen

    The screen is blank when you visit the site. I’ve checked the files on the server and everything (I know little) seems to be alright. Database is still there. I was trying to install a new theme and wonder if it incompletely installed.

    If so, how do I fix it?

    And if not, what else can I try?

    Can you still login to the Admin area? If so, have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

    I don’t know how to do any of these things because the screen is completely blank.

    FTP into your site (or use whatever file management application your host provides) and rename your current theme’s folder in wp-content/theme. Also rename the plugins folder in wp-content to plugins-old.

    I’m not sure what the current theme is since I was installing a new one, and forget just which one it was. I renamed all the themes in that folder by adding -old to each one except the default.

    No change in the blank screen.

    It worked. I had to go to /wp-admin/

    Thank you and thank for replying so promptly. Saved me from major melt down.
