  • Try this: change your .htaccess file permissions to 777 (if you don’t have one, upload a blank .txt file, then rename to .htaccess). Then access your wp-admin section, click on the permalinks tab, choose which type of permalink you want (the middle radio button is a generally usable alternative), scroll to the bottom, click the Update button.

    Assuming you don’t get any weird error messages, then return to the .htaccess file and reset the permissions to 644. Then see what happens.
