Have you tried:
– deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
– switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
– re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.
Sorry, forgot to mention this.
– Plugins are not an issue, the only one activated is WordPress Importer.
– It happens with both default and new themes.
– Brand new site, so, no old plugin issue.
Will try the re-uploading. Thanks
I use Go Daddy too. It can take up to 24 hrs for the set up to be complete, even after the install.
You can see the desktop, but your FTP files have to be established. Give Go Daddy a call about the status of your upload, but you pretty much just have to wait it out.
esmi, your suggestions didn’t work =/
EnduringEpilepsy, weird how only those things are not working, but I’ll try to talk to them. Thanks.
I already received an e-mail from GoDaddy saying “WordPress is ready.”
I had a website installed before, made on Dreamweaver. Should I have deleted everything prior to WP installation?
I have two databases now (now sure if is relevant)
