Hi guys, seems like a great forum here so I'll try my luck!
A number of visitors to my site have told me that they get a blank screen initially. If they press "enter" or refresh the page, the content then displays correctly.
Any idea what's causing this?
Unless you provide a link to a page demonstrating the problem, no one will be able to offer much in the way of assistance.

Sorry! :-D
my home page is http://www.everydayat8pm.com
The thing is, it's only blank every so often. Which makes it hard to tell if it's working or not!
Thanks in advance
Have you tried:
- deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
- resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
It's also possible that this is a hosting/server issue.

The problem is, because this only happens intermitently, it will be hard to tell when the site is actually working as I re-activate the plugins.
Is resetting the plugins folder the same as deleting the inactive plugings from the dashboard?
I have emailed my hosting guys to see if they know anything about it

No . It removes all plugins - active & inactive - from the dashboard.

Ok, thanks.
I'm just deleting my inactive ones at the moment using the dashboard. Subscribe2 is refusing to be deleted (it's bringing up a blank screen every time I try and do it). Is there a way I can just delete it using my ftp?
Yes. Ftp into your site, navigate to wp-content/plugins and delete the Subscribe2 folder.

Simply highlight the folder and press the delete key? (just checking!)

Thanks guys, well it's gone now!
Btw, did either of you receive a blank screen when accessing the site?
Nope. Tried twice with Firefox 5 and once each with IE9 and IE9 Compatibility mode (pseudo IE8).

Ok, well thanks anyway. It's frustrating because it'll probably return again out of the blue. Gah!
Thanks anyway
