blank pages after upgrade to 2.8.3

    I upgrade from 2.8.2 to 2.8.3 and now I can’t get anywhere. All I can get is blank or empty pages, both front and wp-admin.

    I did make a backup before and then tried to restore the backup. Strangely enough, even with the backed up files I now get blank pages and can’t get anywhere.

    There is no SSH access to my server, only FTP. I do have a running wp installation in another subdirectory “test” though, through which I can access the database with wp-phpmyadmin.

    I realize that I forgot to deactivate the plugins before upgrading the files.

    Is there any way to revive the install?
