Blank page when editing any plugin... help? (1 post)

Hi there, tried having a look for the answer to this but no joy yet.

in the Manage Plugins window, i have a list of plugins which are activated or can be activated. The ones currently activated are: Search Everything, phpbb_recent_topics and Akismet. Ones which are deactivated but i will want to use most of sometime soon are: Bad Behavior, Event Calendar, Flash MP3 Player Widget, Google Analyticator, Event Calendar Widget, NextGEN Gallery, Hello Dolly, WordPress Automatic Upgrade, WP-Phpbb Last Topics.

The problem is this: my plugin editor no longer works. i am fairly sure it did work when i first installed this site (yesterday afternoon), but now i just get a blank page when i click "Edit" next to any of the active (or inactive) plugins. This happens every time, except for the occasional time when i get a 500 Internal Server Error. Also when i try to visit ~/wp-admin/plugin-editor.php manually in the browser the same thing (ie: nothing) happens. I deactivated a good few plugins to see if that would help and it hasn't. I reuploaded the wp-admin directory in case that would help but it hasn't.

Please help, google seems highly ambivalent to my quandary but i'm sure there must be some easy thing that i have or haven't done that caused this, and i'm equally sure it can be fixed.

    Thanks in advance.
