Blank Page on Post Publish (12 posts)

    Dear Friends,

I am having this problem in the WordPress version 2.0.1 and 2.0.2 . I got the problem first in 2.0.1 and then I decided to upgrade to 2.0.2. But the problem remains.

When I set up the blog for the first time. That means when the the installation is fresh. My posts were published quit well with the parameter "post.php?posted=true" but when the site gets bigger means with more posts in the database it starts giving problem with a blank page when publish button is pressed. Most of the time the post gets published but the control doesn't come back to a blank write page.

I have noticed the change in passing parameter. After publishing it doesn't redirect to "post.php?posted=true" anymore. It redirects it to "post.php" only. I am not sure where is the problem. I have searched through the Support Questions and discussions. And I have already tried disabling the pingomatic. But it doesn't work for me. I wish that is not the problem . Because when the WordPress was insalled at that time pingomatic was enabled and there was no problem. But now When my blog is having some learge amount of post then publishing is resulting a blank post.php page. I am facing a real problem here. Can anyone help me by giving any suggestion or work out?
    Thanks in advance.

I am having this problem as well with v2.0.2. It was working fine when I first set everything up.

I currently have 34 posts published and this started happening around post 25-28.

Most of the time the post is actually published, but one time it wasn't - thankfully I'd written the post in another editor.

    :)

I had similar problem from the past 2 days. But I guess the problem is not related to number of posts.

Just now found out that http://pingomatic.com/ is not working. Since this is configured in Update Services (Options - > Writing), I used to get a blank page after publishing. I removed the http://rpc.pingomatic.com/ from the update service and now publishing is working fine.

This link has more information on that:

    Hope this helps

    Dear venkub,
I have gone through that article while I was googling about my problem. But that didn't help on my problem. They have suggested to remove pingomatic as sometimes it becomes overloaded and doesn't respond.
There is nothing in my ping list.I wish you haven't read my post carefully.

"And I have already tried disabling the pingomatic."

I have mentioned it clearly in my post. Then where is the problem? Does anybody have any other clue?

Ditto. I'm having the same problem and I don't have a ping list set up.

    Dear Friends,
It's been a while i have posted the topic with this problem. I can see some other people are also having similar problem with the CMS. But I haven't found any solution for this. What should I think about this Support System. a support system without any Programmer or developer in it? We the users only talking with each other? What is the use of it then?

I'm here for another problem, but previously, I was also having this problem, and funny enough, back then, doing a search on Google led me back here.

My site was/is working, but that blank page after posting was just driving me nutso. I had no pinging services listed, and no plugins, just a clean install of WordPress.

FINALLY, after playing around, I too unclicked 'allow pings', and I have no pinging services listed at all, and it works perfectly now. Each time I post, the correct page comes back up.

I wish all of you luck, and that you too find solutions.

I share your frustration (in fact, I'm banging my head against a wall with this very issue right now), but that's the nature of the free, open source beast.

If/when you find a solution, be sure to post it. Sharing knowledge is what makes it all work.

... and be sure to search more -- this has been answered many many times ;-)

If you have a a ping service that is timing out, it'll time YOU out too.

FWIW, I disabled pinging services and still had the problem. I thought I'd found a patch here: http://www.schabell.com/2007/03/22/fix-for-wordpress-blank-screen-on-submit-of-new-post/ but that didn't work either. So I resorted to reverting back to the previous version of the admin files.

Sorry for the additional post, but I meant to add that I'm thinking I screwed something up when I last attempted to upgrade -- which is why I reverted back to the old files.
