• When I log into wp-admin, everything seems to load fine…but when I go to add a new post, or change something in a plug-in, anything, it tries to load then the page goes blank…I clear my cache / cookies and sometimes it works, but most of the time it doesn’t…Does anyone have any idea why it’s doing this? It is driving me INSANE!

  • Hi Lockyonline,

Could be a plugin or theme issue. Check your error_log file (enabled by default in php.ini). That can help you pinpoint the issue. Also, try disabling plugins and/or switching to the default theme.

    Hope this helps!

Hey Christi, I can’t get to any plug-ins to disable them lol…I am using the default theme twenty-eleven now. Where is the error_log file located?

Ok now it works…this is what drives me crazy, sometimes it works, sometimes it goes blank…I disabled all plugins and it still goes blank at random.

    Hi Lockyonline,

Just WordPress out of the box acting like this?

    Looks like a ISP problem…

Hey Le-Pixel-Solitaire, I had another person in another state try, and it was doing it to them too…and they have a different ISP

    Hello again Lockyonline,

If your host uses cPanel (or something similar) look for a File Manager. Otherwise, you can use FTP to connect to your account, look for wp-content/plugins and rename either the individual plugins or the entire plugins folder.

The error_log file should be in the same folder where you installed WordPress (usually public_html or a subfolder of it).

    Good luck!

    Hey Lockyonline =)

Ho, looks more like a deeper problem then… Sometimes it’s better to start over at the base: how do you actually installed WordPress? Was it pre-installed from a “package deal“, you used an hosting service like “fantastico” or you’ve gone for the “good old installation” through FTP? Maybe there’s a little glitch in this process somewhere (if it’s a brand new installation, maybe a re-install could do the magic quickly). A version check of everything is also recommended at this point (PHP, MySQL, WordPress, and so on).

    Hello Lockyonline,

Out of curiosity, what version of WordPress are you running and have you checked your PHP and MySQL versions as well?

Hey Christi, I figured out what was causing it. It was the Facebook AWD plugin. Once I removed that plugin, it stopped giving me the blank page. Here is the plugin: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/facebook-awd/ and I am using 3.2.1 WP.
