• This is my second attempt. Everytime I customize my WordPress, it can be perfectly seen in Firefox but it’s 1 blank page in Internet Explorer. However, when right-click, view source, the post can be seen, just can’t be seen in the window. Can someone help me? I’ve been trying to fix it for so long. ='(

  • Link please.

    Regards

And do you have any Error plus a yellow exclaimation mark in the IE status bar?

You should give the link so we can have a look then. πŸ™‚

I’ve just discovered I have the same problem… was just testing the ‘view this page in IE’ extension for firefox, and discovered i have a completely blank page loads up in IE.

has anyone had any success resolving this problem?

http://blog.sambice.net/ (the problem site, all pages)

i get a blank page with a 404 error not found title & on the taskbar, but nothing at all on the page….

i have another site that i run with wordpress, and the major difference between the two is that on the blog i have added an ‘include’ for the second sidebar, and have just taken the content from both sidebars from the index (upgrading from 1.2), and put them in their own .php to try and keep as close as possible to the ‘norm’. the second site works fine in IE though.

they also have the same plugins installed: lester chans’ user online, and wp-stats. weathericon, spamkarma & themeswitcher. (in case that helps, because some of the other threads on this topic mention plugins, albeit custom made plugins though)

now unless the whole world wants to use firefox….. i have a problem, help please?

*edit – i also just found that i can access the admin panel in IE if i go there directly from the address bar, but if i try to go back to the site i come back to a blank page again *

I don’t see anything at all either, in Firefox Deer Park alpha 2. It seems nothing is sent because there is no code in the view-source and the page info says the document is 0 bytes…

Is php working correctly? Other server problems? Problems with your editing of the code?

aggghhhhh! I tried to restore my home directory and my databases in cpanel and i think i may have just lost my entire blog!! hari-kari is looking mighty tempting right now. πŸ™

I have a simlar problem with my blog http://www.meenkyole.com/mydress. Blank page when viewed in IE. Just fine when viewed in Firefox. No 404 error for me – just blank.

Any figure this one out yet? This has become a real time waster for me.

I think you figured it out, brendonwachter, as now it shows up both in FF and IE.

Anyone figure this out? I’m having the same problem at my site grrrrr πŸ™

This post seems a bit outdated, but I can’t really find a clear solution anywhere. I have the same problem. Completely blank in IE, fine in Firefox.

    Anyone have any ideas? Thanks:)

ahh, having this problem as well.

    http://othersite.org

Works 100% perfectly in Firefox, Netscape, but all I see is the background image in IE.

At the left bottom corner it says there is an error at:

    “Line: 1727
    Char: 5
Error: ‘addEventListener’ is null or not an object
    Code: 0
    URL: http://www.othersite.org/wp/”

Where is line 1727? I’m assuming this is some kind of Javascript problem…

    Please help!

What happens if you disable plugins?

ah damn, I just removed prototype.js and effects.js and now the IE errors are gone – but the page is still blank…

Apparently the problem is in the theme – but I have no idea where to begin.

Here is the W3 validator markup report:

    http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fothersite.org%2Fwp%2F&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&ss=1&No200=1#line-27

Would any of those make a site not work in IE?

I just had a similar problem: my (simple, text-and-pictures only) page displayed fine in Firefox, but was totally blank in IE, even though I could view the source and it was all there.

Do you know what the problem turned out to be? An unclosed <TITLE> tag. That was it! I mistakenly had typed the code

    <TITLE> blah blah blah <TITLE>

    when I really meant

    <TITLE> blah blah blah </TITLE>

Just that one missing backslash was enough to make my whole page disappear! I am indignant that Internet Explorer was not able to figure out what I really meant! Oh well, it’s fixed now.

Problem is title but not only unclosed tag. In my case wrong encoding was set in view->encodings. If non-english letters used in title and wrong encoding is set it somehow breaks the markup.
