• I’ve installed WP. The database has been set up (I ran wp-install.php with no problems). I can log in as admin, and can post comments. When I go to the blog page, its blank. View source shows a basic HTML page:
    <html>
    <body>
    </body>
    </html>
    That’s it. No errors displayed on screen, no errors when I “blog this”. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    The siteurl is not the problem: when I specifically add “index.php” to the url, I get the same result; I’ve installed other PHP based blogs/CMS/whatever that started with index.php and they work fine, but thanks for trying.
    My guess is that it probably has to do with permissions, which I am currently checking.

    if you leave a URL, that should help…

    OK, not sure what that will do, as there is no error message, just a minimal HTML page. Take a look if you’d like
    http://wordpress.infinitevariety.biz
    which can also be reached as
    http://www.infinitevariety.biz/wordpress

    I’m not sure I understand your comment. My posting above shows both forms, but neither one works for me. Did it work for you?

    I suspect it is a virtual folders problem because your php is not setup to use virtual folders. Under your admin page, options and base settings, change the siteurl variable to say http://www.infinitevariety.biz/wordpress instead of http://wordpress.infinitevariety.biz which is where it is set right now.

    LL was reffering to change the URLs in the backend…

    Ah, got it. I’ll give it a try.

    Still getting nothing.

    wget works fine (as a browser) and I can see your blog through a very rudimentary web interface. I would look into taking this up with your webhost. You need to take a look at your apache error logs and investigate further from that aspect. None of the php files associated with WP get parsed at all, including your newsfeed files. If you cannot get any help from your webhost and would still like to get it fixed, contact me through my blog.

    i am getting a blank page after i try to log in.
    > “some extra returns after the closing php tag” seemed to be the problem.
    which file(s) should i be looking at?
    thanks.

    Hi, I’m having the same problem; my index.php only shows
    <html><body></body></html>
    Here’s a rundown of my installation:
    1. Installed b2 to http://shreela.f2o.org/journal directory
    2. Used Ryan’s script to import my MT entries to b2 entries
    3. Upgraded b2 to WP in the same directory /journal
    4. With Ryan’s help, I was able to log in as admin, and saw that my MT entries were imported while viewing the b2edit.php page (thanks Ryan *S*)
    5. I click on “view site” button, and get an empty page
    6. weblogs.com.changes.cache is 666, /journal directory is 755, index.php is 755 (the last 2 were changed because I’ve had luck with that in the past, and figured what the heck).
    I have checked index.php in FB 0.7 and IE6; both show a blank page. Here’s my info from general options:
    Base Settings/SiteUrl: http://shreela.f2o.org/journal
    The only thing I added to the template was metadata;. I pasted the metadata in between the generator=WordPress.72 and the stylesheet link. I took it out just in case I might have messed something up, but the index.php still showed up blank.
    Server info:
    Apache 1.3.27
    PHP 4.3.3
    phpInfo: http://www.f2o.org/help/phpinfo.php
    Ok that’s all I can think of to add, ask away if you need more info.

    I’m having the same problem, I only get a blank page when I point my browser to these address:
    http://www.dulcechick.com/b2/
    http://www.dulcechick.com/wordpress
    but when I login everything’s working… I wonder what’s the problem, any help will be greatly appreciated.

    donnie’s link fixed my blank page problem (I chose the 2nd choice since I’d had problems with that referrers script in the past). Thanks again Donnie!
