[resolved] Blank index after update (4 posts)

I initially installed WP last year, but I decided to simply code a site in HTML instead (I'm not sure why). I removed the index.php file and went merrily along my way.

Flash forward to now, and I decided that I wanted to use WP instead of coding (for various reasons). I accessed my dashboard, saw that I needed an update, so I tried and it didn't work. I downloaded the latest version, uploaded it to my server, and now everything works except the index page. I can access my dashboard, create posts, blah, blah, blah, but I can't view the site. I can view the pages I create, but I can't get to the main page. I can't even access the source code on the index page!

I have no idea what I did, or what I can do to fix it. I'm not a complete novice at this stuff (I mean, come on, I created a functioning website using notepad and HTML for crying out loud), but some of this stuff is confusing to me.

Someone, please help. I feel like Leloo in The Fifth Element when she smashes into the cab. . .

    Try:
    - switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme's folder in wp-content/themes and adding "-old" to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

    - resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    - re-uploading all files & folders - except the wp-content folder - from a fresh download of WordPress.

    - re-running the upgrade manually using /wp-admin/upgrade.php.

It appears to simply be the theme I was using. Fastfood didn't want to work. I installed and activated Twenty Eleven and it's working just fine.

    Weird.

Thanks, esmi, for your help! :)
