Blank Dashboard pages after edit (6 posts)

    Hi,

I get blank pages after just about every edit I do in dashboard and have the same problem when I sign in at the admin page.

The only way I can get into the dashboard is to sign in, then I get a blank page, I open a new window to my blog and it then has an edit link activated that I can use to get to the dashboard.

After I activate or deactivate a plugin I get a blank page and the action often does not occur.

I thought of throwing my mouse against the wall since its wireless and I've tried everything else I can think of.

    Thanks for any help!

    Hi,

    Check with these options:

    -> Upgrade your wordpress version
-> Remove all unwanted code from htaccess

    Thanks,

    Shane G.

    Hi Shane,
    I did upgrade to 2.8.6.

Where would I find the htaccess? I looked in root directory, wp-content, wp-includes, wp-admin. I use filezilla for ftp so I think I am seeing all files and none are hidden.

    Thanks
    David G

  4. Your .htaccess should be in your root (the same folder that has your WP-* folders).

    From the codex

To display hidden files in FileZilla, in it is necessary to select 'View' from the top menu, then select 'Show hidden files'. The screen display of files will refresh and any previously hidden file should come into view.

    Thanks Ipstenu,

I have the latest version of filezilla and the show hidden files was moved to the server tab and is called "force show hidden files"

    Still no htaccess.

    Thanks

  6. Why do they have to change that stuff?

Okay, good :) Just wanted to make sure you were in the right place.

What plugins do you have installed?
