    IN installing this plugin http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-multilingual/

the developers write up @ http://made.com.ua/multilingual/
talks about editing the database to use utf8 characters.

I set up a new one already like that.
he goes onto explain one needs the fckeditor too.

So I noticed on my post window that the editor (wp2.5) is all BASIC, and not the nice looking one.
    My question is this.
IF a database is in utf8 collation, does that mess with 2.5's editor?
I unistalled Wp fresh intall, then fresh database in latin collation, and the editor looks normal (wp 2.5). I decide to can the multilingual thing and try some more simpler plugins.

All I want to do is a Bilingual blog, English/Spanish and have a native speaker registered as an author in another country and post blogs in spanish. --a possible translator thing too would be nice. Switcher or something.

    I am already investigating..
    basic bilingual http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/basic-bilingual/#post-31
    and xlanguage
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/xlanguage/#post-2850
    qtranslate
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/qtranslate/#post-4547
    and gengo
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/gengo/#post-118

Do all of those above require my database to be in utf8?
Should I have .mo files for span and eng in the Languages directory?

I am a noob with coding and stuff so I would like something super user friendly-medium techy type.

    Any recommendations for plugins?
The userface needs to be easy too for my monolingual spanish speaking author that has no developer or coding skills at all.
    thanks for your help.
