The "contribution to page load time" of the plugin (assessed by Plugin Performance Profiler) jumped by almost 10x with one of the 2 recent updates to PowerPress plugin.

A month ago it was 0.0325s and now, after the updates, it's 0.252s (via P3). I investigated after my resource use on server shot up.

Prior Piegraph screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/Z9xPz5p9iVh (you can see the plugin is minding it's manners here, for the most part)

Two more screenshots although I'm not sure just what these are telling me:

If you don't mind, disable PowerPress then run the tests again. Sometimes other plugins cause PowerPress to double its efforts. If the queries and impact usage cut in 1/2 after disabling PowerPress then that is an indication that something on your server (plugin or theme) is making PowerPress do more processing than it should. If it decreases by a small amount, then P3 is not truly reporting the plugin correctly. If it is a modest improvement, then there most likely can be room in PowerPress to improve. Your results with PowerPress would be helpful. You can email them to me at cio ]at[ rawvoice dot com.

I have once before chased a phantom issue with P3 and PowerPress, last time I did P3 test was also testing the wp-admin area as well as the public site. In such a test PowerPress would be memory intensive since it does a lot of stuff in the wp-admin.
