• I have the plugin setup on 9 sites on my one hosting, and it is overloading the server.

It’s using up all the resources, as it scans the root all the time and all sites where it is loaded.

Any ideas on how to resolve this? (I have disabled file detection changes as this seems to maybe cause this)

(On another server with the same plugins and same sites, the plugin works fine, hence why I don’t know what else to try!)

It’s slowing down the sites drastically!

I have installed it on many sites, but can’t get it to work on 2 sites. As soon as I activate plugin, it crashes the site and gives me a server error.

It’s on the 2 primary domains (of the hosting), so this must have something to do with it.

    Any ideas???

Have you tried to disable the database backup? It can consume lots of resources too.

I ever enabled it on a shared hosting account, it generated insufficient memory error. But then I use other backup plugin (together with Better WP Security), everything goes smoothly.

If disabling database backup can’t solve your problem, you may try to disable almost all of the features, and try to enable it one-by-one to figure out which one should not be enabled.

    Good luck.

    One more thing.

Some options on “Server Tweaks” can cause websites on add-on domains do not working correctly. This can be the cause that your 2 sites showing errors.

I have a shopping cart website using a full domain name but shared with my main website on a single webhost account. The main website is built using WordPress, while the shopping cart is built using OpenCart. The files of the shopping cart website is stored under an add-on domain. If I turn on certain feature on Server Tweaks section (main domain), the shopping cart (add-on domain) will not work correctly.

I am not using the database backup feature.

But what is strange is that it works on all the sub domains…like 22 different sites. It’s only the 2 primaries that give the big issues!

    Any other ideas?

I guess it’s the compatibility issue between Better WP Security with other plugins.

You may try to disable all other plugins on the 2 problem sites, then enable the plugins one-by-one to test which one is not compatible with the Better WP Security.

The strange thing is that I have the exact same plugins working on the other sites where Better WP Security works fine. The sites are almost clones of each other, so why would it conflict in one and not the other?
