I believe I’m using the newest version of WP. I just installed it yesterday.

Anyhow, I was happily going through the options in Better WP security, and I can’t remember which option it was, but I think it was the one where you change the name of the database.

Anyhow, I got a WP error and WP said I had to repair the database.

But when I tried to repair it, WP said it couldn’t be repaired.

Here are the error messages that I got:

Frankly, this is a serious bug. I’ve also had the same problem, solved it by exporting the database from phpmyadmin directly to my hosting and renamed the tables by hand. I used Notepad++.

I,too, had the exact same problem and it couldn’t be repaired. 🙁 Had to restore my entire database. This does little to instill any confidence in the plugin and have removed it from my installation.

I had the same problem. The main reason I had hopes for the plugin was because I had 2 sites where I had automatically installed WP and wanted to change the WP table prefix. I backed up the SQL database before using the plugin to try and change the table prefix. Messed my site up totally. When I tried to restore the DB, it says successful, but my site won’t load, saying “Database error.” Hope my host can restore it. Use this plugin at your peril. I will not try it again.

(When I looked up the plugin, none of these comments were showing, nothing was showing under “See what others are saying” at all. If I had seen any of these comments beforehand, I never would have even tried this plugin.)

@ djferik – Having the same issue.. what did you rename them manually?
