Hi there,
Do you happen to use friendly minify url? If so please check if your .htaccess
file in the cache folder is writable and contains necessary rewrite rules, as shown here: http://betterwp.net/wordpress-plugins/bwp-minify/faq/ (the second question).
Assuming that you did not change the cache folder, when updating to 1.3.1 the .htaccess
file was overwritten and that broke all friendly minify urls. BWP Minify does automatically look for required rewrite rules and update your .htaccess
file but if that file is not writable it will fail to do so (I will have to fix this).
I’ll check it out. Thanks.
Well, now I can not find my htaccess anywhere in my wordpress installation. There is one outside of public_html, but that one is almost empty. I definitely had one before and it was quite robust. This is very strange, since I have changed nothing in my files in quite a while.
Oh, and no, I wasn’t using friendly minify. At least, it is not turned on right now, after re-activating the plugin.
You can go to BWP Minify > Advanced Options, turn off friendly minify url, and then turn it on again. BWP Minify will then show you the path to the .htaccess
file along with required rewrite rules.
Even with friendly minify urls turned off you’re still having issues? That’s weird. Can you contact me via http://betterwp.net/contact/ ?
Also, before anyone asks, I have “show hidden files” checked.
Ok, so here’s an update…
I enabled the option for compatibility with plugins/themes that print external JS/CSS files directly and then changed the cache directory path to blank so that the default is used. I thought the cache directory path seemed a little strange to me anyway. I’m not sure why the path was set to anything since I definitely did not change it. Either way, the problem appears to be fixed for now. It seems it was the cache directory path that was the culprit, btw. I’ll keep this topic open for now, in case anything happens again. Thanks for the quick support on this.
