    Gday Eran,

I'd be interested in trying this out but just wondering if it will reset all the events that I have entered so far?

    Cheers,
    Richard

Only if you run into problems and have to uninstall. I always recommend testing beta versions with data you can afford to lose or easily restore.

    Thanks,
    Eran

Sorry for the noob question but I can't install the beta without deleting the previous version, which says uninstalling will delete all data, is there some way of updating that I'm missing?

    Cheers

If you are unfamiliar with the ins and outs of remote file management via ftp client, I don't recommend beta testing this plugin on an existing installation.

I am currently using Dreamweaver for my FTP client, so I should just upload it manually and make a backup of the previous version?

I recommend using a separate installation of WordPress, that way you don't risk any data from your live site. Beta testing this plugin is not a good idea for the uninitiated, if you haven't done it before I don't think you'll want to start with this plugin.

Installed and all seems fine, also ajax is faster than before.
Italian translation need some light upgrades and there is some typo here and there like on menu "Dettagio Attività" instead of "Dettaglio Attività".
    A good work :)
    Thanks a lot, Eran

First - thanks a lot for that great plugin, Eran!
The new features, mainly filtering categories, are a big step.

Just installed the beta. Didn't do much testing so far. It works :-)

The "Add Events" link in frontend isn't translated. There is an correspondig entry in the po file (german in my case), marked with "fuzzy" ;-)

A nice idea might be, if it would possible to choose the location for the external link in an event. Now it open it with "_blank", but i like usually to link to an internal page with more information, so "_self" would be better for me.

    ciao

Please note, this is a beta release and anyone can translate this plugin, indeed, I would encourage you to make corrections to the translations and email them to me.

Please abide by the rules of this thread and refrain from making new feature requests. This thread is exclusively for shaking out any bugs from the beta release.

    Thank you,
    Eran

Installed on our testing site. Tried to click on "Settings" in the Installed Plugins menu and got this error:

You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.
    Internal Server Error

Unfortunately this is the primary WordPress user for our test site. The first one created at install that should always have access to everything. How do I fix this?

The fix should be as simple as deactivating and reactivating the plugin.
    Let me know if not.

Was this a clean database installation or did you have a previous version of the plugin installed? I want to rule out any outlying factors so I can correct this exception.

    Thanks,
    Eran

Ah, deactivating and reactivating worked. I should have tried that first. The beta was installed over an existing install. That was probably the problem. Thanks!

I do not see a "copy event" option listed. I was hoping that was in this beta. :( I presume that is still in the works?

I've been asking for assistance with the copy/recurring functionality but have not received timely (or useful) replies as yet. When it's ready, that functionality will be listed at the top of the announcement.

Please provide more detail about how you arrive at this error.
    Also, what's the blog URL?

I can't help you if you don't tell me a little more about how you arrived at this error. Perhaps we can start there.

    Hi Eran,

Your plug-in has helped us tremendously in terms of managing and displaying events. Thank you!

One question about this beta release: does the mouse-wheel feature allows you to scroll through several months without a refresh? It will be nice to be able to jump to a particular month without having to fresh each month using the next> button (may be in future releases?).

    thx!

Of course, Eran, but I see that there is already a translator so my warning was for him because what I've written is a typo that can pass unobserved.
I'm sure that he will update translation successfully.
In case he doesn't want anymore or doesn't has time, I'll be happy to update it, just let me know.
Also, I tried to edit .po file with poEdit but it's impossible to open it, very weird, I usually do it without problems.
In any case, thanks a lot for your work, AEC is very useful, miss only minicalendar :)

@fchang: Yes, the mousewheel code will allow you to quickly scroll between months without unnecessary data refresh.
@macitaly: the minicalendar is currently on the backburner, for now, I am concentrating on recurring events.

I like the changes... good job.

In the event form, the duration box is being partially covered by the Event Link box.

Thank you for this great calendar, it's fantastic. I am using it as a calendar on one page and a roster on another page. I would like to display one category "events" on one page and another category only "roster" on a different page. I have put the short code [calendar category='events'] on one page and [calendar category='roster'] on another but they are both showing both categories. I hope I am making sense. My understanding was that I can show only 1 category, have I used the wrong code?

    Thanks for your assistance

    1. This only works if you are using the beta version.
    2. Check out the description of the functionality more closely, you have to use the category id, not the name.

Thank you for your speedy reply, Eran. I am using the new beta version. I have tried [calendar categories="1"] and [calendar categories="2"]with no luck. I'm sure it's staring me right in the face, I just can't see where I get the category id from.

I may be stating the obvious, but did you make sure those are the category ids? Check the calendar categories page. There is a number next to each category in a grey box. If it still doesn't work, post your url and I'll look at it tomorrow to see if I can glean any further insight.

    Thanks,
    Eran

I'm an absolute idiot, sorry for wasting your time. I downloaded the beta plugin but re-installed the previous version. I'm very embarrassed! It works perfectly, thank you for work on this plugin, it's perfect
