Best way to list specific post information
-
Hi all,
I’m sure questions similar to mine may have been answered before but I’ve searched and cannot find any that are helping me.
What I want to do is assign 5 fields to each of my individual wordpress posts.
Field 1 = “a thumbnail image”
Field 2 = “a price in British pounds and pence”
Field 3 = “a description (which could be the excerpt”
Field 4 = “a title (which could be the post title)”Each of the above fields would be unique to each post. The above could potentially be accomplished with custom fields?
I also want to add a Field 5 = “category name” which would be shared by multiple posts (could possibly be the standard wordpress categories?).
I then want to create a new wordpress page, and add in some code to call in all posts that share a certain specified Field 5 = “category name” and list the posts, displaying fields 1,2,3 and 4. Field 4 would need to be a clickable link to the post in question.
Hopefully that makes sense. Any ideas anyone? Or am I overcomplicating things? I have a bit of coding and programming knowledge but am clueless with PHP.
Any advice gratefully received.
Cheers! 🙂
