best way to alter width of sidebar in Kubrick? (5 posts)

I'd like to make the sidebar a little thinner, and the body a little thicker. (about 40 pixels for now)

I can make the sidebar thinner in the CSS file, and make the body wider (with 'narrow column'), but it seems the background colour is not directly linked to the bar/column width, so i need to know how to move that.

I'm also not sure where the info for the separate 'no sidebar' view for individual posts is, as I'd like to widen that as well.

any help would be gratefully appreciated!

Sorry can't answer your question, but I like your site. Slipstream is a nice name. I am going to post my Radio Playlists on my WordPress as well, when I get it going (not ready to show yet). So I'm getting some ideas from your site.

I ran into this problem myself on a site. My only suggestion is to recreate the Kubrick theme in an image editor that supports slices (Fireworks, Illustrator, Photoshop) and adjust to fit. Besides, you may find some elements (like the header) that you want to change around a bit.

Sorry I can't be of more help. I've tried adding a background color in the CSS, but it didn't quite line up right.

Upon visiting your site, I noticed you'd already done most of what I suggested. I think you're well on your way to figuring it out. :-P

heh. When i first looked at the images I didn't notice the slightly darker grey section so I didn't realize that's what I had to mess with..

thanks for the kind words, dgold. if you're interested.. i have a site (old style design) with more radio playlists and radio stuff in general at http://slipstream.brokenuniverse.com/radio/
