• Hello to all…new to the community, so let me apologize in advance for any amateur behavior with respect to my knowledge and 2.0 vocab…

I’m wondering how to import or otherwise add a lot of existing content, mostly in the form of just URLs. I am a freelance writer, and one of the main goals of my site (epiphanyinvesting.com) is to aggregate all the hundreds of articles I’ve written in the past few years. They are scattered, and in most cases I can’t (and don’t want to) simply reprint the article. But I can link to them, as well as add comments or a preview if I want.

The most simplistic way to add the content would be to create hundreds of new posts that would highlight each piece individually…I like my writing and all, but that’s more than I’m looking to do. Should I just create a link roll that points to all my archived work? While it would be nice to have my old articles “back-dated”, I’d be happy just to get everything up and organized into categories & tags, etc.

Anywho, thanks for listening…Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • It seems like keeping track of hundreds of links to external sites would be a real pain in the ass over the long term. There is a lot of value in having your content on you own site, presented the way you want it. Unless there is some urgent need to get this done, why not just repost a few articles at a time until it’s done. If you have plain text backups of your articles, it shouldn’t take more than a few days. Once you’ve finished you will be glad it’s done right.

Use our good ol’ friend — copy and paste.

I understand…it’s worth the time to assign tags and categories to each piece individually…Thanks for the help!
