Best Theme for this type of design?

    Hi everyone. I’m super new to using WordPress so please bear with me.

    I am designing a site for a client, that has a background image on the left side. I want my header, navigation bar, content, footer, etc to shift to the right so that the background image isn’t blocked.

    I believe the site will have a 2 column design, but it could change. I tried fiddling with Suffusion but became completely confused.

    This is so ironic, because I can hand code in my sleep, but for some reason figuring out how to navigate WordPress is hard for me.
