I use Smultron (http://smultron.sourceforge.net/) at work on OS X, and would like something similar for my PC here at home, to edit css/html/php with - it would be nice to have multiple documents open, and syntax colouring as well.
What does everyone use? (Tried Stylemaste,r http://www.westciv.com/style_master/ ,but it's a bit overblown!)
Notepad2. Best one out there, free. Syntax coloring, multiple docs (open two or more instances of program....)
Get it here.
I use Notepad++. It has syntax coloring and tabs, so it does exactly what you're looking for.
Thanks guys, very helpful as ever :-)
Notepad 2 looks good, not as pretty as Smultron but looks like it should do the job - would use Dreamweaver but it takes too long to load up for my liking.

PHP Design 2005 is also a good choice.
The Crimson text editor is really great as it has syntax highlighting for PHP, XML, CSS, SQL, etc - get it at http://crimsoneditor.com/
I use EditPad all the time. It works well enough for me at: http://www.editpadpro.com/editpadlite.html
+1 for Notepad2. This is what I use for my site development. However, it doesn't support MDI which was on your list of requirements.
A good commercial text editor is Editplus. The best handling of wordwrap that I've seen. Had they offered payment via Paypal and Notepad2 not available, I'd easily purchase it.
