I went through every major slider out there — all the WordPress specific ones and all the main jQuery ones and nothing integrates better with WordPress than Portfolio Slideshow.
I've used this plugin on every site requiring a slider and haven't had I one single issue yet. If you do have a problem though, the folks running the support forums are extremely prompt, thorough and helpful.
