Hi,
I'm finishing setting up my photo blog (http://patrick.dinneen.com) and am wondering what's the best size for images.
Here's the same image in two different sizes-
1. 600 pixels width- http://patrick.dinneen.com/all-alone-test/
2. 800 pixels width- http://patrick.dinneen.com/all-alone/
I like the larger as people can see more details in images but on some screens people then have to scroll to view the title and next/previous.
What size do people use, what would you recommend, which do you prefer etc.
Cheers,
Pa.
Personally, I would use no larger than 600px wide...maybe even smaller and if you want to provide larger images make them thumbnails that are clickable to larger images. Here is one I play around with...nothing great, but just one example...note, that I don't make the images clickable to larger sizes, but I could easily do that if I wanted.

I say smaller the better because when you change designs, you will have a hard time incorporating. Speaking from experience. Making them clickable is a great idea. Use Next Gen Gallery...
I use 450px wide max on my blog
