Best practice in creating own forms (1 post)

    Hey there,
i am working on a little project. i have written a small plugin that handles data. now i want to use some forms, so that users can send data to my plugin.
but i am not sure how best practices would look like by creating forms in wordpress. right now i created some custom-page templates with simple html forms and some php for sending and viewing the data.

so my question is: is that the 'standard way'? just creating a custom-page template and putting my form inside? or is there a much smarter way?

    regards, afr0.
