• I was just wondering which program people were the most happy with? I’m looking around trying to weigh out the pros and cons of the different scripts, and was just wondering what others thought. I’d like to find something with some options such as albums, photo of the day (viewable on somewhere on the main page), slideshow, just some simple features. Let me know which one is the best, thanks for the help.

  • there is already a post giving you some infos on that, in case you wanna check out even more take a look pixelpost, folderblog and/or q-dig (these are pretty different but the only ones i got in mind that aren’t named in the other post…)

    i prefer folderblog.(org)

pros: rss, comments on each pic, categorys, lots of customizing features, random images, sorting by name, date (use as pblog or gallery), has a few extensions / plugins…, automatic thumbs, post- & upload interface, captions, descriptions, no database required…

cons: needs its own template (brings a few, but wp-themes dont work) and is not a part of wp (or is that a pro?)

I did the whole thing in WordPress by using some plugins and some modifs I made myself… maybe (if I have the time, and if anyone is interested) I can make a HOWTO out of this.

    result: http://www.razziphoto.com

    razzi,
definetely wanted! looking for a workaround (or howto) for quite a long time. only thing i miss is a next/previous link.
    but photographs are really awesome!
so that is a wordpress-install used as photoblog, right? is it big effort to get new pictures up? what plugins did you use?

    kind regards, erik

I’ve heard a lot of good things about the Plogger plugin, you may want to check that out

wow, nice…. please post a how-to. is there any way to view the comments when browsing the pics? thanks.
