   I have this plugin installed:

   http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/gzip-pages/

   But when I run the Google Page Speed plugin through Firefox it keeps telling me that I could improve performance by enabling gzip - which to me tells me that it is not working.

   Within my admin control panel I don't even see the spot that I can toggle gzip on or off with this plugin which makes me assume it is always on once you toggle it (but the above suggests otherwise).

   Any help / ideas please? Should I just use another plugin?

   I use Gzip Output, but I have the same issue as you have.

   When I first installed it I saw a big decrease in kb downloaded /day on Google Webmaster. last week, out of the blue, this number went back to the levels it used to be b4 enabling the plugin.
   I'd appreciate if anyone could tell me (us) how to appropriately enable gzip on our blogs.
