    Hello
I want to host a wp site which is approximately 5GB in size, and it will be full of things to download for free(videos, images, podcasts etc). I expect to have lots of traffic.
Of course I am looking for a cheap solution since I will not earn any money from this site, at least for now. I do not know if I should go for dedicated server, cloud hosting, or if its better to start will the cheapest solution(something like $3.95) and gradually go up.
Also I would like any recommendations on good hosting providers (I know people ask this all the time but...).

    Thank you in advance

Cloud hosting would probably be the way to go; however, it is not very cheap. I too have a similar site and tried shared hosting for around $6/mo with hostgator, a VPS for around $40, but both gave me speed issues and quickly became overwhelmed. The best option is probably a dedicated server, but you are looking at 100+/mo. A happy medium is to go with cloud hosting. The issue is people call a lot of VPS's cloud hosting and this will not help you out at all. After I tried out the shared, VPS, and dedicated; I ended up going with [URL REDACTED] and have been really happy with the service. The only thing is that it uses Computer Cycles to determine IO and CPU usage time, the top plan ($16/mo) has 2000 which would allow approximately 450 thousand page views per month. Anyway, I thought I would lay out some different options since I already went thru what seems like every option out there. Good Luck
