Never used FireFTP but have never had cause to even think about changing away from Filezilla.

CuteFTP is pretty good and you can use it 30 days for free.

    FileZilla is my best friend.

And for those with a Mac, I suggest Cyberduck.

Filezilla rocks, free, easy, and configurable for multiple hosts.

Why not just use command line ftp? I've never needed anything more than that.

Otto42, that's quite the elitist attitude, IMO. Not everyone is familiar with command line, or comfortable. Though I could use it, I prefer GUI.

Half of us don't know how, half of us prefer using an FTP client, and half of us don't have access to the command line...

I'll let you work out the math

I would love to learn more about using commandline - but in a safe place with dummy files and no risk to anyone else's data. And this thread has just got me downloading Midnight Commander - can't remember why I disliked it but I'm sure 5 minutes with it will remind me :)

For little one file deals, I do. But man, it sure sucks at saving my settings for me. Why write a bunch of shell scripts to do stuff when a nice UI will save your settings and make transferring a set of directories dead simple? Oh, and mode-switching based on the files being copied is a nice time saver too.

Do you browse these forums via a GUI browser? Why not surf with telnet?

filezilla is really good dont use crack one its really mharm your pc and many features wont work when you use cracked stuff best thing get a open source stuff like filezilla n start playing with your server or you can use http://www.coreftp.com also provide free version

I used cute for a while, but changed to Smart FTP as it is legit and the free version seems good enough for my uses.

I've hammered the programme and had it open with several windows and used all the common features which work well.

There is a free version and one you pay for. Not sure what the paid one does, but with so many free and open source ftp agents, I'd never buy one and would sooner donate a couple of pennies to open source, if the programme was putting bread on the table as it were.
