    I have beginner questions

    (1) How can I increase the size of the content area?

(2)How can I reduce the size of the title box (the box which is blue at the time of the installation)?

(3)How can I put a calendar on my blog which shows on which day a new blog was added?

(4)How can I re-arrange the order of my Pages?
    thanks

    1. Depends on the theme, but in the case of fixed-width layouts like the default theme, it can be a pain to manage even when you know exactly what you're doing. It's usually a smarter idea to find and install a theme which better fits your requirements.

Good place to start when looking for a theme:
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Themes#Get_New_Themes

    2. See 1.

    3. WordPress has a calendar template tag:

    http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags/get_calendar

You could add this into any theme (and many themes already include it, as well); typically it's placed in the sidebar.php template.

    4. See the information on the 'sort_column' parameter for wp_list_pages():

You are using the default, Kubrick theme. There are hundreds of the themes available, so you might simply want to check some out.
    Using_Themes/Theme_List
Generally, the calendar is in the sidebar. I believe the default theme the calendar code is commented out. Look at your sidebar.php file in the theme editor, or a text editor, and look for that something like <?php get_calendar(); /> It might have // before it or /* */ around it. Remove those.
To change the order of the Pages, take a look at this Template_Tags/list_pages
You'll have to alter the parameters of the tag in your sidebar template.
Look those over, and if you have more questions, check back. But definitely look around and follow links in the codex. You'll find tons more info covering your questions, and related topics.

As you say there are hundreds of themes to choose from. Can u list some of the most popular themes. I like the default theme as it is very simple to use.

    regards

Most popular is difficult to say. The links we provided also contains a theme viewer, in which you can actually see the themes. There should also be a link to Alex King's contest, check out the winners, those seem to be popular. But themes are quite subjective, and though a theme is "popular" doesn't mean it's the best design, and vice versa.

Click on the Extend link at the top of the page here and then Themes to see several select--or popular--themes.

    Probably this a better link:
    http://themes.wordpress.net/theme-viewer.php
In the drop-down menu on the right top you can choose which theme to view.
