Before starting a few questions (limiting access to posts, email validation)

    Hi there,

    i plan to setup a new blog and want to have a couple of features.
    While searching for a new blog software i found wordpress 😉
    But anyway, here is what i want to have:
    A blog, readable by “everyone” (even not logged ins) but with the
    following limits:
    – Comments etc. are only possible for registered users
    – Special Posts are only avaiable to a special group of users (they
    should not have any rights beside commenting, e.g. not able to
    write own posts). Would be ok if they have to belong to a special
    category
    – Account validation (register should be validated by email)

    I found a couple of plugins, especially for the special posts
    stuff, but some of them seem to be not maintained anymore, others
    “leak” informations like postcount etc. which i definitivly do not
    want. So if anyone has some recommendations, i’d like to hear from
    you 😉

    Done in the admin area – native to WP.

    No problem – this can even be enhanced with the Role Manager Plugin:

    Also, search the codex – there is a reliable plugin for almost anything you can think of.
