• Hi, our college is trying to move away from Moodle, which is a rather ugly, non-intuitive, online learning programme. To be fair, it is open-source, so I cannot complain, but it is terribly difficult to work with and I have no desire to be the go-to guy at work who has to help every professor to use it.

That said, here’s what I’m hoping WP can do for us, but I need to know if it is possible before I present the idea at the next dean’s meeting:

Allow 12 different professors to set up online learning components for their courses; for example:
Prof 1 puts up Bio 101, 202 and 303, and Genetics
Prof 2 puts up Shakespearean Lit, Composition 101 and History of verse
Prof 3 puts up Calc, Geometry and Trig
    etc.

By ‘puts up’, I mean that students taking those courses will enter via our main site ‘WP College University State’, pick Bio 101, be asked for a password, then they will get access to lecture notes, a couple video lectures, and be able to interact with a class blog on ‘mitosis vs miosis’ or whatever.

The prof would, of course, have to put the info on the Bio 101 site, which I would think might look like a blog.

Is such a thing possible with WP and plugins? Anybody using or aware of something like this?

    Thanks for your help!
