Hi there, I've been hacked and have no clue how to fix it. My index page has been defaced: see http://www.marcoandelle.com and I tried changing the index page back to the default but it doesn't work. Can anyone tell me how to fix this? And how to plug the vulnerability?
Upgrade to 2.1.2 to start.
Take a look at your index.php file within your root directory. I note that it's kicking out an error for teh wp-blog-header.php file so I don't think it's getting far.
From Google's cache of your site:
<meta name="generator" content="WordPress 2.1" /> <!-- leave this for stats -->
You are also running gallery -- make sure youre using the most current version of that as well.

Hi there, I deleted gallery, and replaced the majority of the files on the FTP. I still can't get rid of the defacement, and can't figure out where the text is.
I am going to try and download all the files into Dreamweaver and do a global search for the text, as I honestly can't find it.
Any ideas of a quick way to get it back to normal?
