bbPress vs BuddyPress – what's the difference?

    Is BuddyPress ONLY for WPMU installations?
    I thought WPMU was dead now anyway, merged with the core WP?

    My understanding is that bbPress provides just a forum functionality whereas maybe BuddyPress provides a more full featured social networking type environment, FaceBook Lite if you will.

    Do I have it right?
