I tried putting the shortcode in for the forum on that page [bbp-forum-index]. And it doesn’t use any of the css. It displays but looks horrible. Before the theme, it looked much different.

Really lost here. Can anyone help me? If I use the page “forum” with the shortcode, I have no css. If I use the page “forums” that bbpress creates, it is scrambled. I’m really at a loss of what to do. Anyone have any ideas? Should I uninstall bbpress and start over?

    hi..
you don’t need to uninstall the bbp. in the menu, you create a post page and link to it.

    is it right the

    http://redhorsecrm.com/forums

    is a post page ?

if right, instead create the post page, you better create link in Menu (admin section) and refer to http://redhorsecrm.com/forum.

if you want to display the index of your bbp forum in page, that’s another thing.

When I installed bbpress, it automatically created it’s own stuff. I did not create a page. I added a menu link to http://redhorsecrm.com/forums
It looked great. When I changed themes to Customizr, it looked scrambled as you can see now.
    So I created a page
    http://redhorsecrm.com/forum
And added the shortcode to display the forum index. And it looked bad because it didn’t pick up the style sheet, which prompted the question here to support.
Sorry, I wasn’t very clear from the beginning.
For some reason now the page with the shortcode looks fine. Not sure how that happened. I took out the menu link to the bbpress forums and changed to a page link to the page I created forum.
I’m still curious why forums doesn’t work.

you better ask this in bbpress forum. They will have the answer. tell them you using customizr theme.

    connielk,

I had the same problem with both this theme, and another Bootstrap 3 theme that I’m now using. Here’s the solution that I found:

    http://bbpress.org/forums/topic/full-page-vs-sidebar-installation/

@connie – I couldn’t reply to the previous thread but you said you were still having issues with sidebars in the forum with the customizr child theme – this one is working for me http://wordpress.org/plugins/content-aware-sidebars/ you can select the sidebars you want wherever, and it recognises forums, posts, replies etc. I know it is naughty replying in this thread πŸ™‚

    connielk,

Did you try the usage of this Plugin: http://wordpress.org/plugins/bbpress-wp-tweaks/

both With, and/or Without, Nikeo’s new child theme ?

I’m using a plugin called Display Widgets that lets me show/hide widgets on different pages. It is working on all other pages. And it does have a special setting to show or hide widgets on custom post types including Forums, Topics and Replies. But I am still only seeing the right sidebar on the forum page.

I’m using the latest Customizr with the child theme for bbpress.

Hi, this url is not a page (from a WordPress standpoint) but an archive of the forum post type. It will then apply the selected default layout of posts, or the global default layout (that you probably have set to right sidebar).
Looking forward to reading from you

    (@connielk)

Perfect. That was the last clue I needed. I had the global default layout to right sidebar and that made the archive page work. But I also needed to set the post default layout to right sidebar so that the forum, topic and reply pages would also have right sidebar because those are post types. Now everything is working.

    Thanks for that last clue!

I am glad to read that @connielk!

If you have appreciated the help and the theme please consider give Customizr a review : this would be a really nice way to say thank you and would help me to improve the theme if you have any additional comment. (you don’t have to of course, just if you feel like it! πŸ˜‰ )
    Thanks and enjoy the theme!
PS : also set this thread as resolved as it will help other users to find a solution if they have a similar issue.
