Hello,
I have, say, 300 posts that all have a corresponding featured image / post thumbnail. These images are already in the media library.
I would like to attach one image per post and use this as the featured image. I would rather not do this by hand. Is there a plugin or script or hack that will allow me to do this automatically?
Thanks
I'm looking into this as well! Please help!
I'm looking for this too. I have over 800 posts all with an inline image selected already. I want to retroactively go back and set them all as featured images for a new theme I'm using. Is this possible?
I need this too for an archive I've migrated to WordPress that goes back 15 years. Wish I had an answer, just commenting to get myself notified if anyone has written a batch assign featured images plugin.

i just installed this plugin:
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bulk-edit-custom-field/
which i thought would sort of work...since featured image is just a custom field named '_thumbnail_id' but i can't even find the interface in my backend.
