basic costomization

Great theme, couple of questions as I get started though –

1. how do I left justify the homepage text in the main block?
2. How do I make the text a bit smaller?
3. can I remove one of the widget blocks so there are only 2, 1 that is 1/3 and the other is 2/3 of the space?
