If you look at my site:
http://www.designershoebuys.com/shoes, you'll notice a grey bar across the top, that wasn;t present in the default theme. I have been told that this is a WP issue. Does anyone know why this bar is there and how can I get rid of it?

I don't see a grey bar. Do you see the bar when you log out of the WordPress admin area? If so, that's the admin bar, a feature in WordPress 3.1. You'll only see the bar when you're logged in as an administrator. The public never sees it.
