    Thanks

In the wiki.... try this link: http://wiki.wordpress.org/index.php/WPHacks
That's the WPHacks section of the wiki. There's an entry for the "WP Blacklist Comment SPAM Filteration" hack (it's in the section marked "Comments" ... just follow the directions. It takes a little work settig up, but is worth it.

You can put IP addresses in the comment moderation keys field in 1.2, you don't need any hacks.

Does the comment moderation field work for partial i.p. addresses? I have a kid on dialup hassling me - will moderation work if I just list the 1st two octets?

You can put partial IP addresses in the blacklist yes. Just put the 000.000. chunk in there. The blacklist will block any comments that match.

IP-based blocking won't do a bit of good -- at leastr for spam. I watched a spammer post about 150 comments on an MT blog using some 20 or 30 different IP addresses spanning the globe.
It's not effective, and not worth your time pursuing an IP-based solution. WP-blacklist, along with one or two of the other excellent WP spam blocking plugins, is all you really need.

And, thanks to IP spoofing, you could wind up blocking future legitimate users.

I installed the latest version of the WPblacklist (2.5) and the installation went well - I thought. But now when I click the Blacklist Configuration link in the plugins area, all I get is this:

Warning: main(ABSPATHwp-includes/streams.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/home/web/web1109/blog/wp-includes/wp-l10n.php on line 2
Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required "ABSPATHwp-includes/streams.php" (include_path=".:") in /usr/home/web/web1109/blog/wp-includes/wp-l10n.php on line 2

I don't know what to do, I don't know what went wrong. As far as I can conclude, I'm missing a file that wasn't amongs the downloaded files.

Does anyone have a solution to my problem? I really need this plugin because texasholdempoker is so bloddy annoying.
