Why are the banners on my site being cut off the sides?

My site is http://freelance.freehostia.com/blog and my stylesheet is located here: http://freelance.freehostia.com/blog/wp-content/themes/eastview/style.css

Because the container in which it is in is too small.

I changed the width of #farouter to 775px and that fixed it for me.

The web developer toolbar for Firefox is a very useful extension. I found your problem in about 30 seconds by using it.

W3C validity has nothing to do with my problem... I'm certain it has to do with margins and/or padding but I don't know what settings I need to fiddle with.

BTW, my banners rotate. So you may need to refresh a few times to see the cropping.

You do need to validate your code before anything else... even if you don't understand how your 28 errors in your page could cause the cut off, fix it, because invalid code can cause all kinds of weird problems.

As for the masthead specifically, I see it as you are using #masthead with the background for your banner that is being cut off. You need to fix the masthead div so that the left and right margins are 0 and set the padding for the left and right to 0.

    Good luck,
    Marcus
