Banned from Ping Lists (11 posts)

How do I know if I've been banned from Ping Lists? If I am, how do I get (un)banned? Also, do Pages get pinged or only Posts?

I use wordpress as a CMS using both Pages and Posts for content. During site developement, I usually go back and forth to edit the pages and posts several times. Has these actions banned me from Ping lists? and if so, how do I fix this?

Why do you think you've been banned?

I have written several posts over the last 2 months (at least 2 times a week) and have not seen any indexing of these posts on google blog search or yahoo blog search.

I'm using the default pingomatic for the Update Service. I just added Feedburner pingshot to help, but still have not seen any results.

I can't see anything obvious in the page source that would stop Google indexing the blog. When was your xml sitemap last generated?

I'm using XML Sitemap Generator for WordPress and that says the last xml sitemap built was March 9, 2010 2:42pm

The change frequency is set to Always.

I can't see any reason why Google isn't indexing the site. Do you have access to server logs? It might be worth seeing if Googlebot is visiting the site at all.

A standard Google search shows the last post that was scanned was Feb 28 and the cache shows they last visited Mar 3. Looks like Google is stopping by, just not very often. I have a very modest site and a similar search shows they slurped up my last addition about 2 hours after I posted it.

Look at any logs or last visitors to see who or what is visiting.

I had to use quotes around the post title to find your post.

Maybe it has something to do with content, is it original or clips from other sources? Others here know more about the search engine stuff than I maybe they will help. All my content is original and custom for classes I teach, maybe that is the difference.

    Hope this helps.

I'm not concerned about Google indexing or searching my site. I know that a Googlebot has visited. What I am concerned about is the Pinged Posts. I don't see any posts appearing in Google Blog search. This should be updated using Update Services where I use PingOMatic.

    Does this make sense?

@saildude You might have a point about the originality of the content. I have read that original posts do get a higher priority on the Ping Services, but some articles are original. I would assume that I would see something in Google Blog search.
