Visitor Maps Extended Referer Field
[resolved] Ban range (5 posts)

I've been getting several entry attempts by anonymous ip addresses. The first 6 digits, xxx.xxx.x are always the same and the last few digits change. Obviously, this person gets another spoofed id and tries again. How do I ban the range? Can I just enter xxx.xxx.x and leave the rest off?

    Hi,

You can specify denied IP adresses in the following formats:
    Single IP Address
    10.5.3.333

    Range
    10.5.3.3-10.5.3.40

    Implied Range
    10.5.3.5-40

    CIDR Format
    10.5.3.3/32

    Imply 10.*.*.*
    10.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

So if for example I want to ban anything that starts with 123.456.7, I enter it as:

    123.456.***

    Is that correct?

    Or do I just enter:

    123.456

Well, actually, to ban any IP that begins with 123.456.7 would be - 123.456.7.
    The dot must be included.
