The plugin does not add any line breaks, however the WordPress editor will add things if you are not careful. Please send an example page that contains the problem as I am unable to replicate.

    Thanks

I was getting them consistently. I don’t know if there is a conflict somewhere, which might have been the issue. On forms which the plugin wasn’t even being used I would have the formatting blow out of place with what appeared to be line breaks. Turning off the plugin solved all the problems. I haven’t reinstalled it because (1) some of the themes have this feature, and (2) I don’t believe that it’s responsive although it does shrink.

This is not to say that this isn’t a darn great plugin and a fantastic addition which you have graciously provided for use.

I’m having the same issue, though it’s only presenting itself on the WooCommerce checkout page.

Disabling the plugin fixed the extra line breaks…

Hello all and thanks for posting here.

I am unable to replicate the problems that you two are experiencing. If someone could please throw up a test page so that I can look at the code. I have had similar problems in the past and I have always been able to resolve them – generally not involving this plugin as the culprit or a conflicting CSS rule.

TheLaw, if you check the previous threads, I have provided the necessary code to make the columns responsive- simply insert the code into your themes CSS.

I’ll contact you at your site and give you access to one of my test sites if you want to debug. Superficially I saw nothing whatsoever that gave away the issue. I’m guessing there might be a plugin conflict and perhaps it triggered another plugin (necessary though) to spit out the spaces.

That would be great. You can also email me directly at sales@code96wd.com.

I have taken a look at the site you have sent, but do not see any issues. Will you please describe in detail what it is that you are talking about?

    Thanks

That’s because I have to enable the plugin again. Sorry. Doing so now. 🙂

    Same problem here! It adds
inside html generated also by shortcode!

Here’s a thread where I was tracking down the same issue: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/contact-form-adding-line-break

Test page is here. After the “Name” and “Email” fields there is a break tag after the closing label tag. That isn’t there when I disable Easy Columns.

The Jetpack developer pointed to the shortcodes.php file which turns autoformatting off and back on.

I found the same thing. It is essentially creating a double filter of all of the shortcodes. I am going to make it a user option to enable/disable the auto-formatting within the plugin itself.

I just haven’t had time to update it yet.

So we’ve identified the issue, great. Glad we could help and thanks for having provided such a useful plugin.
