    BackWPup is creating a .htaccess file in directories containing the following lines which cause problem by denying access to other things in that directory that are needed. I was also getting errors running BackWPup which were resolved by removing the .htaccess file that BackWPup had created.

    <Files "*">
    <IfModule mod_access.c>
    Deny from all
    </IfModule>
    <IfModule !mod_access_compat>
    <IfModule mod_authz_host.c>
    Deny from all
    </IfModule>
    </IfModule>
    <IfModule mod_access_compat>
    Deny from all
    </IfModule>
    </Files>

    Where did you store the backups ? Please use every time a subfolder.

    Yes, I am using a sub-directory. BackWPup is creating a .htaccess file in the sub-directory. It should not do that or there should at least be a setting to turn this off.
