I get repeated Attempting to resume log messages (see below). I already increased the max_execution_time to 3600 and the memory_limit to 150MB in php.ini.

When I wasn't using the zip extension it was working.

    Please help.

Its failing to create the zip archive, probably due to memory restrictions.

How big is your blog unzipped?

The blog is about 65MB right now (~3400 files). Just tried giving it a 250MB memory_limit and I get the same problem.

65MB should be fine to zip with your memory settings.

Are you getting any errors in your PHP error logs?

Here is what I found in the error_log:

[23-Oct-2012 22:29:03] PHP Fatal error: Class 'ZipArchive' not found in /.../wp-content/plugins/wordpress-backup-to-dropbox/Extensions/class-zip-backup.php on line 107

Its in the function get_zip of the ZipBackup class.

    Thats the problem!

As mentioned on http://wpb2d.com/premium, ZipArchive is mandatory for the zip extension to work.

Please follow the following instructions to either compile PHP with the zip option or install it via PECL.

    http://www.php.net/manual/en/zip.installation.php

    Cheers,
    Mikey

Oops, I didn't see that. I just installed it and now it works fine (zip is about 32 MB)
    Thanks!

I have the ZipArchive loaded and have a php.ini in the root setting the mem to 250mb, I have gone into /public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-backup-to-dropbox/wp-backup-to-dropbox.php and set the following define('BACKUP_TO_DROPBOX_MEMORY_LIMIT', 2250);, and still can not get the backup to work. If I undo the zip in zip settings everything backs up with no problem. Any ideas????

yes I am. Here it is: [24-Oct-2012 18:02:02 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 18251730 bytes) in /home/mysite/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-backup-to-dropbox/Dropbox_API/src/Dropbox/API.php on line 293

Your memory limit is only set to 64MB and im guessing the zip file is larger then that.

If PHP is running in safe mode or the Suhosin setting BACKUP_TO_DROPBOX_MEMORY_LIMIT cant do much because you server will not allow a setting above 64MB.

Can you suggest what I should do to resolve the issue then? Is there a way to find out if php is running in safe mode?
